This last installment of my list, I would a call my "others." They don't really fall into any particular category, but are things I've been wanting to do or goals that I wish to accomplish.
21. Visit New Orleans. I have never been and one of my besties goes every year around her birthday. It's never a good time of year for me to go, so I have yet to visit this great city. I must go soon. I'm thinking 30th birthday trip!
22. Visit NYC for the holidays. I'm not sure if this one will actually happen as NYC in December is super expensive, but I'm dying to do this. I LOVE NYC so much. When Matt and I went there for our honeymoon, I could not get enough.
23. Go camping. Ok, so I'm not really an outdoors-y kind of person, but I figured I should maybe give camping a shot as an adult. I'm pretty sure the last time I went, I was in Girl Scouts. I didn't really love it then, but hey, I'm stepping out of my comfort zone. I'm pray for no rain. Maybe that's why I didn't like camping because every...single...time...it rained! Oh, and there will have to be s'mores involved. I was a Girl Scout, remember?!
24. Watch a movie outside. There are so many places around D.C. that we can watch movies outside during the summer. I have wanted to do this, but always forget to look at the schedules early enough to find movies that both Matt and I want to see. I'm making it happen this summer. It could be great for my #30 goal as well.
25. Get my own baseball jersey and attend more games this season! Oh how I love baseball. I always forget though that summer games are so not fun. I need to attend more games early and late in the year. And why not get a jersey for myself as well. Ian Desmond, please!
26. Keep a basil plant alive for more than a few weeks. I have killed more basil plants than I would like to admit. It's kind of sad how bad of a green thumb I have. I must get better. I have dreams of some day when we own our own home, planting some vegetables. If I can't even keep a basil plant alive, this will never happen.
27. Run a 5K. It's been a while since I've been able to complete this dream. I love running, just not enough apparently to put in the work. That's changing this year. I will complete a 5K without stopping again!
28. Find a wine I love, other than Moscato. Grownups drink wine right? I guess I should maybe try it some more. Really, Matt and I don't drink that often. I feel like a little kid when we're with his family and I order a soda. I guess if I'm giving up soda, why not take up wine? haha.
29. Attend a concert for an artist I haven’t already seen. I actually made this my goal last year too and figured I'd just continue to do this. I tend to see the same artists over and over again. I love them. Really I'd be happy to see the same four artists for life, but I figured that maybe every once in a while, I could branch out. This year, the only concert I have booked is Lady Antebellum so this one's already half-way fulfilled.
30. Go on a date night once a month. Matt and I are homebodies that's for sure. We're happy just to order in and watch TV or a movie. I think we need to try to make an effort to get out more, try new things. We recently went to a flea market while we were in Florida. First, I was shocked that Matt voluntarily wanted to go shopping; second, he didn't drive we crazy wanting to leave after 10 minutes. We had a great time and when we stopped to grab a slice of pizza, the cashier (an older gentleman) thought we were newlyweds. It was so cute and made my day. I think we need more of these "new and different" experiences to keep the spark there.
