TGIF

This Week's Thoughts: It's really starting to feel like Winter now. We had snow (and ice!) early this year (yay for a snow day!). I have mixed feelings about Winter. I came to the realization that Christmas is now less than two weeks away. When did that happen! I'm nearly finished with my Christmas shopping so that's good. But I hate the cold of Winter and that means my favorite time of year is coming to an end soon.

Last night we celebrated by brother-in-law's birthday. Today's his actual birthday, but my family has such crazy schedules that last night was the only time close to his birthday that we would all be available. In the midst of us all realizing that Christmas was nearing us, and we haven't really celebrated Christmas at home in...well, almost ever, we got to talking about our plans. Turns out we only have a few only, maybe on Christmas day that we all are going to be around. When did we become so busy in our lives that we can't spend the full day together for the holidays? I don't like change I guess so at the moment I'm having a pity party. I know in the end, I will spend time with the ones I love and it will be wonderful no matter how much or how little time we have together. I just need to accept the change that is happening...but maybe I just need a day or two to let it sink in. I guess I need some of Buddy's holiday cheer!

What I'm Reading: Been a little slower at reading than usual. Took a while for me to get through a new cozy series book #1, but it was good. Not sure why it took me so long. Sad that it did though since now I don't have as much time in December to take in the Christmas cozies!  And I didn't even have time to read my Thanksgiving Murder She Wrote book. :( Will have to wait until next year...guess I should return it to the library now. haha. I'm so bad. Glad there isn't a wait list for Jessica Fletcher.

On Nook: Murder Trims the Tree by Deb Baker. This little novella (is that what you call a short book?) was just what I needed to get me started on Christmas cozies this year. It's only about 30-some pages so it's a quick read that I'm nearly done with in a day.

On Audiobook: Size 12 is Not Fat by Meg Cabot. Found this cozy at the library. How can I not see what it's all about with that title. Just started listening to this, so we'll see how it is. This book is the first in the Heather Wells series. The author is the same one that wrote the Princess Diaries series. Wow, didn't realize that when I picked the book, but should be interesting.
