TGIF

This Week's Thoughts: I honestly can't believe it's mid-November. At the same time, it feels like it should be Christmas already because stores are marketing earlier than ever this year! I love the holiday season, but I like to experience each holiday, please.

On that same thought, why are all stores opening on Thanksgiving day now for Black "Friday" shopping? My mom (and sometimes sisters) and I have gone Black Friday shopping for years. On Thanksgiving day we spend hours going through the ads and making our plan of action for Friday (I'm not sure which we enjoy more--the time looking at ads or the time together shopping). Now ads are out so much earlier, stores are open on Thanksgiving day. The day should be spent with family and friends, not shopping! I'm undecided about how to handle Black Friday shopping this year. Right now, I feel like boycotting. At the same time, I love the tradition. What to do?!

What I'm Reading: I'm nearing the end of the year and hopefully completing my GoodReads 2013 Challenge of reading 36 books this year. I've been super motivated to keep up the reading. It's also a lot easier to find so many awesome books this time of year because I love a good holiday cozy mystery! Too many to choose!

On Nook: Drizzled with Death by Jessie Crockett. I can't remember where I first saw this book. Maybe the "first in a series" channel from Barnes and Noble or new releases. I am loving the new BN mystery newsletters. Not sure how I signed up for that either, but I'm glad I did. Anyways, I love starting with the first in a series and this one happens to take place around Thanksgiving, so I was sold. Good marketing BN, good marketing!

In Paperback: A Fatal Feast by Jessica Fletcher/Donald Bain. I'm pretty sure I don't have to explain this choice. Love me some Murder She Wrote and how have I not read this holiday one already?
