We had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Friday night. Nate's family happens to be from Dayton, which is right by Troy (small town close to Dayton). We therefore hit it off, since they knew where Troy was and nobody ever knows where Troy is!
The rehearsal dinner was Carmine's, an Italian restaurant. I was so excited about going here. Matt and I when we were getting ready for our honeymoon, I asked some of my coworkers from the NYC area where to go for good food. Two separate people recommended Carmine's. We ended up going there and loving Carmine's, only to find out that they had just opened a chain in D.C. Haha. Oh well, it was still good, even if we traveled all that way to go to a place in our background. So now we can say we've gone to the D.C. restaurant too.
Saturday Matt had to be at the hotel early to get ready with the guys. Off he went while I got ready and my mom dropped me off at the church. The ceremony was touching and sweet. Again, I was off on my own to the reception while Matt took photos with the bridal party.
So the cocktail hour was spread out over the whole floor of the Washington Golf Country Club. They had a raw bar (impressive, but not for me), every kind of cheese imaginable, and great looking meats. The best part of the food all night though was the fried artichokes with a basil and goat cheese dip. AMAZING! I just want to eat these every day! I'm drooling just thinking about it again.
The reception was so much fun! Food was great, band was amazing and we just enjoyed every bit! Matt and I danced the night away after dinner. I didn't want the night to end. Haha.
After Nate and Allie headed off (bubbles following!), we boarded the bus back to the hotel. Well apparently we were on the party bus and it was a blast! We all broke out in song to the music the bus driver was playing and when it ended someone started, "Yellow Submarine." Bubbles were being blown. It was epic!
To end this amazing night, when we got back to the hotel, I checked my phone and my friend Ashley was in labor. This was the icing on the cake of a great weekend. :)
The next morning, Allie's parents hosted a brunch at their house, which just happens to be right down the street from the country club. Again, food was great and they used the flowers from the wedding so it was beautiful. Nate and Allie looked so happy all weekend. Matt and I are so excited for them.
There are so many great photos from that weekend. Here are just a few of my favorites:
