Loving: The colors of fall. I usually don't love when summer ends, but there is something about fall that is just magical. The colors of the leaves are beautiful. This is one things I honestly can't complain about my longer commute. George Washington Parkway is a beautiful drive in the fall, overlooking the water with all the trees and I get to pass the monuments!
I also love the smells of fall. Again the leaves, but also all things apple cider (current candle we are burning!), caramel becomes popular again, and of course pumpkin (who doesn't love all things orange!).Did I mention, I love Halloween! It's probably my favorite holiday!
Eating: Well, I'm not drinking soda! My family has embarked on a "weight loss challenge." So I haven't quite been so great at a gym schedule just yet and might not have completely changed my eating habits, I have made a point to stop drinking soda. I love soda! And I've read for years how bad it is for you so occasionally I try to cut back, but have never tried to really quit. With this weight loss challenge, I quit cold turkey. It's almost been a month...and right now I can say, I'd really love a diet coke! But hey, water is great too. :)
Watching: Go On and The New Normal. Such funny shows. I love them! OMG, if you aren't watching The New Normal, you need to. It is so amazing. I love the actress who plays the little girl. And the gay couple--too cute! I also love that NeNe from Real Housewives of Atlanta is a regular on the show.
Reading: My goal for reading this year was 50 books. I got a little behind and have been trying to catch up. I'm not sure I can totally catch up, but I will try to get as close as I can. Here's what I'm currently reading in order to reach that goal:
On Audiobook: Die for Love by Elizabeth Peters. I listened to another book by Peters and it wasn't bad so I thought I'd try another. I've just started it so we shall see. This one takes place in New York City at a writers' conference. Should be fun!

In Paperback: Trick or Treat Murder by Leslie Meier. So it's practically Halloween and I haven't read a Halloween murder mystery yet! I did listen to The Cereal Murders recently and that took place around Halloween, but it wasn't really the focus. I'm going to try to get this one read this week, which hopefully I can do given we have a huge storm coming (more on that in a minute). I picked a Meier mystery because I've loved the books I've read by her and can't wait to read more!Anticipating: The Frankenstorm! Hurricane Sandy (yay, kind of after Sandra!) currently headed for the East Coast. It's supposed to hit land tomorrow evening probably, and probably around New Jersey is the estimate. All the schools in our area, as well as the federal government have closed for tomorrow. Even the metro and metro bus systems have closed already in preparation for the storm. I've never seen them close for a hurricane that early! Right now it's just raining a little. Let's hope that's all that happen.
Matt and I have flashlights and batteries from the last time we didn't have them for the "hurricane," which didn't really happen. I didn't really stock up on too much food or water. I guess I'm not that paranoid.
Stay safe everyone!
