This past weekend I watched my sister graduate from college. I was so proud of her and excited for her. There's nothing more exciting than graduating from college. The world is at your finger tips.
As I watched her graduate, I was reminded of when I graduated three years ago. I was young, excited, and nothing could stop me. Those who had graduated before me tried to explain the transformation that would take place after graduation, but I couldn't quite understand at the time. There's another level of "growing up" that occurs as you get your first full-time job and your first real apartment and leave college life behind. This new way of life is not better or worse than before, just different.
In my three years since graduation, I've grown a lot, but still have a lot to learn. With each new step I take in life, there's always excitement and a little bit of fear, just as there was on graduation day. I still don't know what the future will hold, but I know that with each new experience, I hope to become a better person and hopefully get to know myself a little bit better. I think that's part of life. We learn as we go.
So to all you new graduates out there, enjoy this time and excitement because life as you know is about to change! Welcome to the "Real" World.
