Baby Favorites: 12 Months
I missed the nine-month favorites, so let's jump right into 12 months!
1. Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Crawl Around Car: I love having a friend that has a kid that is a year older than William because we get to borrow so many great toys. This little car is one of them! William LOVES it. We have quite a few bigger toys that we rotate between (here's another one, OMG did he love this door at first) and every time we bring this car out, William cannot get enough of it. When he gets in the car he now says "Go! Go! Go!" It's so cute.
2. Disney's Sing & Giggle Mickey: To say William is obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is an understatement. He is mesmerized by the show. My mom got him this little Mickey stuffed animal that sings the "Hot Dog" song and it's so cute to watch William dance to it!
3. Carters Baby Boys' Fleece 3-Piece Vest Set: For William's birthday he got a few different (thank goodness they were all different) Carter's outfits that had long-sleeved onesies and fleece pants and vests (including this one pictured above). I am obsessed with vests for him this winter. Sweat shirts are nice, as are jackets, but vests are so much less bulky and easier to take on and off. Thank goodness for the amazing weather we have had this fall because often times, we can get by with only putting a vest on William (and a hat) and he's warm enough. Love love love!
4. Surprize by Stride Rite Infant Boy's Alford Sneakers - Brown (from Target): So with William beginning to walk and it getting cold, we figured we should probably get him a pair of shoes finally (really with the warm weather and him not walking outside, we just put socks or not on him for much of the summer). We lucked out and got 25% off at Target when we went. William has such little feet that it was hard to find shoes, but we love these! They are sooo much easier to get on than anything else we now have. Plus they look nice. Side note: my coworker has twins a year older than William and gave us a whole bunch of hand-me-downs that don't even look used (some were still in the boxes!). So now William has a large selection of name brand shoes. It's crazy, but we paid nothing for them. It's quite amazing.
5. LeapFrog My Pal Scout: We were pretty good about a nighttime routine for William starting at a young age. With kids you obviously have to be somewhat flexible, but we do the same things every night. This little puppy is part of that routine for all sleep now! I am in love with the nighttime music option. It can play 5, 10 or 15 minutes of bedtime music. William is used to it now and we take it with us if we go anywhere where he will have to nap. After months of having it, we finally programmed it so now it says he name with whatever it's playing (i.e. "Goodnight, William!"). So cute!
6. Nuby Bath Tub Toy, Floating Turtle: One of the first toys I bought William for the pool was this little turtle. He was still terrified of baths then so it took a while for him to like it. As he got used to the pool, he then started liking the bath (so probably some time in late July or early August he stopped crying the ENTIRE bath time). William now loves anything that water can flow out of for bath time. It's actually really cute to watch him play in the bath.
7. Mega Bloks First Builders Build'n Go Wagon: Again, my friend gave me these blocks for William. I guess Makayla got quite a few blocks as gifts so Ashley just gave me a bag of blocks and this awesome wagon to put them in. William loves them. We play with them daily!
8. Mam Starter Cup, Boy, 5 Ounce: William is a horrible eater so milk is still a main food option. The doctor recommended we work on getting him to use a sippy cup but it was so hard at first (he didn't get how to suck, the cups leaked and we would always forget to use the sippy)...anyways, we started getting better about giving William water in this sippy and he's now mastered it and can now even use the spill-proof sippys! I liked this one as a transition because there is a little rubber thing you can put on the spout (on the inside of the cup) to help with spills or you can leave it off to start to help your little just learn to drink from a sippy (which is what we did at first). Slowly William got it and we used the rubber thing more so it leaked less.
9. Touch and feel books: William loves books (mostly eating them but oh well). We got a few touch and feel books and he LOVES them. They capture his attention (which is very short). This is one we received as a gift. It doesn't have a ton of touch and feel, but the ones it has are different. We definitely will be ordering more!
