Katy Perry!

While everyone was in town, Dad, Jenna and I had Katy Perry concert tickets. We are all fans of Katy Perry and so I bought tickets for Dad and Jenna as birthday presents. I felt bad because my cousin Lily is a huge fan and here we were leaving to go to the concert without her. :( But we went and it was awesome! Of course, Jenna had us running late, but we got there just in time to get something to eat at the Verizon Center before the opening acts started.

I will say as awesome as the concert was, I thought of it more like a show. The only thing I can compare it to is Cher. While both Katy Perry and Cher are great singers (love me some Cher!!), their concerts focused more on the performance/show aspect vs. the singing. I'm not saying they were bad singers live, just that it's a different kind of concert to attend.

One of the craziest things was this huge fake horse that came out during "Dark Horse." Our seats were a little high up and I literally thought it was a real horse at first. I think I sat there with my mouth wide open for the first bit of that song. haha.

Our seats weren't bad. We were kind of mid-level seats, but we were in a section where it was just us on our side of the row. And we were only about two or three rows up from the first row of the section with a railing in front of us, which was nice.

We took the metro there, which wasn't too bad, but on the way home since it was after rush hour, the metro took forever!! Boy was I tired by the time I got home!
