Matt's Birthday Surprise!

The day of Matt's birthday, we got a phone call from Stuart. Turns out they couldn't make it to dinner because Laurene had the baby that morning! Surprise! Baby Blake was born seven weeks early in what seemed like record time for a first-time mom (I think it was five hours!). Laurene didn't even have time to get an epidural by the time they realized she was going to deliver that day (ouch!).

We were beyond excited and what a wonderful birthday present for Matt. Laurene and Blake were doing well. Blake was so healthy for being seven weeks early and he got to come home on Mother's Day, at what would have been 35 weeks.

When we got that phone call, I was so shocked, excited, nervous...this list goes on. Anyways, I was so full of emotions that I cried (I didn't even cry when William was born...shh, don't tell William!). 

Well, we still celebrated Matt's birthday and took these few photos. I told Matt to soak it all in now because it was the last birthday that would be all about him. haha.
