Turkey Trotting

My sisters and I trained for a 5K this fall. I will say I wasn't the best at consistently training, but we still were going to do the turkey trot no matter what! Well when it came time to it, my sister, Jenna, backed out, but my other sister, Sandra, her husband, Ryan and I signed up.

The day of the turkey trot was windy and cold! Luckily no rain, but seriously it was cold with all the wind. The course was through the local golf course...literally, so it was harder than I thought it was going to be because we were running on the grass vs. on the cart path. Needless to say, I got about halfway through and had to stop and do interval runs for the last half. :( I was disappointed in that, but glad that we at least ran it.

That same night, my whole family went out to dinner, and then we went on to see the second Hunger Games movie. It happened to be the opening weekend and we were at Tyson's Corner so we had to wait three hours! We got in line 45 minutes early and we were still at the back of the line! So crazy; definitely an experience.

Our turkey trot goodies.
After the race.

Waiting in line for the movie. We were tired by 10:30 at night!
