NaNoWriMo

Early this year I stumbled upon the blog, Spin Sucks. For PR and Marketing folks out there, this blog is a must read. They post often so you are bound to find something that is helpful or just plan interesting to read.

One of their recent posts was about NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month and how the blogger was writing 10,000 words this month toward her novel. Who knew that such a month existed?

This peaked my interest. I had a How I Met Your Mother moment and thought "challenge accepted!" Ok, not really; I'm not about to go write a novel tomorrow, but I think I have always wanted to write a story of some sort. I used to start short stories when I was younger, but would never finish them. Recently with all the mystery novels I read, I've thought more about writing a book and if I did, it would be a cozy mystery.

I think I shall add to my "bucket list," if you want to call it that, writing (and finishing) a novel. I'm not saying published, just written. I think that's a big enough goal. A big goal yes, but I like to dream big, push myself.

So yes, "challenge accepted!" I won't be part of this year's NaNoWriMo, but one year I will be. Stay tuned!
