Family Vacation 2012

Last year, my family took a long weekend and we all (boyfriends, husbands and all) went to Virginia Beach. It was the first time we had ever done anything like that and I think it was start of something/ a realization for my mom that our family was growing.

This year, we wanted to do something similar, but with Jenna's school schedule and Matt and I each having new jobs and limited vacation time, our options were looking limited. Fortunately, we realized we could all go to Virginia Beach again this year-not only for vacation, but for a wedding of a family friend of ours! What a wonderful trip!

We left super early Saturday morning and came back late on Monday night. Despite it being a short trip, I think we packed more into those three days than we normally do in our vacations! It was such a great family trip. I don't think we could have had a better time.

Saturday was the wedding. It was absolutely beautiful! I cannot say enough about how perfect this wedding seemed. I hope that it seemed that way for those in the wedding party. Having been in my own wedding and then my sister's, they never seem to be perfect to those involved, but I'm not sure others see that. 

Becca was so beautiful! Stephen was super cute that he couldn't stop crying. Every little detail of the whole day was perfect. They really did a great job and I was so happy to be a part of their special day.

On Sunday, we played our usual miniature golf. Becca's mom, Robyn joined us! Then we headed to the beach and got to spend a little bit of time with Matt's brother and his fiance before they headed home. It was a perfect beach day.

After dinner, we headed to see some free concerts! Cover bands for The Who and Led Zeppelin played all evening. What great music and great weather.

On Monday, we ventured to do even more before we left Virginia Beach and took a fishing trip! I didn't think we'd actually catch anything, but we catch tons of fish! On the way back, we got caught in a crazy storm and got drenched!
