Rest in Peace Steve Jobs

Today I am reflective about the death of Steve Jobs, the late Apple co-founder for many reasons.

One cannot deny that he was such an extraordinary part in creating the technological world we have today. Where would we be today without him? His commencement speech a few years back to Standford is truly moving and inspirational and gives just a little incite to how such little things in life can affect us and the world in big ways.

I think more so though, for me personally, his death makes me reflect on my parents. I'm especially drawn to something my mom said once. She said something along the lines of those that die young somehow know they must pack a lifetime into their short years.  I think Steve Jobs falls into this category. He truly accomplished so much in his short 56 years.

That's another scary thought for me. He was my parents' age. What a reality check, that life truly is short.

In Steve's words: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

May he rest in peace now.

Thank you for all you did for the world Steve Jobs.
